Shipboard Video Services Staff is an onboard videographer that shoots events, shows & weddings; edits; and assists in operating and maintaining a multiple channel closed circuit television system.
This is an 8-month on, 8-week off, live aboard position. Due to the limited space onboard, it is usually necessary to share a cabin. Internet access is restricted to email due to limitations in satellite communications bandwidth. A valid passport and all necessary visas are required for this position.
The Video Services Staff is responsible for shooting weekly events, tours, occasionally shoot and edit weddings; edit a weekly tape for revenue, scheduling programs for on air playback, live broadcasts, live to tape broadcasts, music programming, equipment maintenance, satellite repositioning, graphic creation, and more.
Shipboard equipment encompass: DPS Velocity editing system, Sony 250 DVCAM Video Cameras, Leightronix scheduling software, Power Point software, Imerge Music System, Parkervision Robotic Cameras, Panasonic Switcher, Spirit LX7 audio board and more. The Video Services Staff is expected to act professionally and must adhere to all shipboard rules and regulations as well as dress code.
The Video Services Staff reports directly to the Video Services Manager as well as the Hotel Director.
Requirements: Associate Degree in Video Production or equivalent experience; excellent shooting & editing skills; knowledge of editing systems/programs; friendly, professional attitude; willingness to learn; excellent written & verbal skills.
