Seeking a bartending or serving job but got a few questions

I have over 10 years experience bartending and am the time to dedicate and I REALLY REALLY want to work on a cruise ship for the next few years (with a few months off here and there of course)  
Here's my problem...well one.  I have DUI.. is that going to be a problem? You don't drive on a ship but on the video they said if you have a criminal record there is no chance....true?

When I made that video, I had in mind people who were under investigation at the time they wanted to apply.
In this part of the World, there is a record of such activities and local judicial district will clearly see it.

However, you should be fine if DUI has been committed so long ago.
After all, denying you the right to work is violation of your constitutional rights.
