Cruise Consultant. Is this considered a good position?

The English boards seem quiet so I thought I would post here.  I recently interviewed for a cruise consultant job with Norwegian.  
Is this considered a good position?  The position would involve selling future cruises to guests.

Interview went well.  It was a video interview over the internet with the director of sales at NCL and manager.  I think I did well but wont find out until next week.  I feel confident though I'm a strong candidate based on my work history.

Is that an onboard or a shore side position?

If it is onboard, my best friend was selling future cruises and I can confirm it's an excellent position! Fair easy and very well paid (at least compared to other positions).

Position is onboard.

It pays 1700 USD base starting with commission on top.  I don't know though what the commission is like.  I was told the position (with commission) could pay 60 - 90 thousand a year but that seems really high.

I was hoping maybe somebody knows what a realistic expectation would be on the commission.

A lot of it is riding on exact commission amount.
If someone can come up with that number, that would be great.

From what I've seen, if you devise a plan, print a couple of hundreds/thousands well designed flyers, and spam passengers' doors with them, you could do really really well.
I've seen Future Cruise Sales person on Princess, she would sit down in main atrium, in a high traffic area, and place a sign next to a computer, and that was all ..

It's quite realistic.

Let's say... my friend's record monthly earning was 20k. But he was very very very good (the best in the fleet!) and extremely experienced at that time (with an excellent plan, as CEO suggested).

Of course, the earning depends heavily on a ship capacity, its itinerary, cruise length, guests' profile etc.

Yeah...

There was a long line in front of his desk... attracting even more guests to join the queue...
He couldn't process all the applications by himself and he hired few fellow crew members to help him with processing as their side job.
