12. BENEFITS
12.01. RELATIVES TRAVELING WITH SEA STAFF ON DUTY

12.01.02. ENTITLEMENTS

1.  Relative's Travel
In any one calendar year, family members of staff employed by Princess Cruise Lines Ltd., a Bermuda company, may be permitted to travel for:

a)   Unlimited periods in the case of Officers in the shipboard Executive Committee and confirmed three stripe Officers.
b)   Up to two months in the case of all other confirmed Officers and those with Officer status** who have sole occupancy of a cabin and more than one year’s service with the company.
c)   Up to one month in the case of staff who have sole occupancy of a cabin and more than three year’s service with the Company.
d)   Up to one month in the case of all other staff with more than five years service with the company, subject to the ship concerned having accommodation, which is specifically designated for relatives’ use.

2.1  Common-Law Partner
If an applicant wishes a ‘Common-Law’ partner to travel, they are required to furnish satisfactory documentary evidence to the effect that at least four of the following seven requirements are met, and that of these, the first six criteria must have been applicable for at least one year prior to the date of the request.  Applicants should forward this information to  Fleet Personnel  in advance, so that it can be kept on file for future reference.

1.   Joint mortgage or ownership of primary residence;
2.   Joint bank account;
3.   Primary life insurance beneficiary;
4.   Beneficiary of crew member’s last Will and Testament;***
5.   Have registered the person as the crew member’s next of kin with Fleet Personnel;
6.   Common primary residence;
7.   Mutual offspring.

2.2 Travel Partner
Those single Officers, with over 12 months service, who do not have a spouse or common-law-wife/husband/partner, as defined under the current “Relatives Traveling with Sea staff on Duty” policy, are able to apply for a Travel Partner, defined as 'Domestic Partner' or 'Significant Other', other than their registered next-of-kin. This Travel Partner would be able to sail with them whilst on duty, in their own accommodation.

The full details of the individual nominated as a Travel Partner must be advised to Fleet Personnel, in writing using the Nomination Form, prior to the application for travel being made.
Should an Officer wish to change the individual nominated as their Travel Partner, then a period of six months must elapse before the newly nominated individual may travel.
Only one individual will be permitted to accompany the Officer at any one time, under this arrangement.

Travel applications should be made using the usual sea staff application form with the required approval signatures being obtained.  All costs of flights and associated travel to join the vessel are to be covered by the Travel Partner/staff member, there is no entitlement to sponsored travel regardless of contract of the staff member.

3. Handovers & Initial appointments to vessels.
Relatives may not travel when the staff member is on board additional to complement during a handover/familiarization period, or during the first two months of a staff members first service in a ship or in a new appointment, without the approval of the Captain and Fleet Personnel.  Spouses/partners are not permitted to live on board during refits without the approval of the Captain and the appropriate Director.

4. Refits
Children, are not permitted to live on board during refits and/or when the ship is in Dry Dock.

5. Carnival Corporation Casino Division
In any one calendar year, close relatives of staff employed by Carnival Corporation Casino Division (CCCD) may be permitted to travel for:

a)   Up to two months in the case of confirmed Casino Managers with more than four year’s service with CCCD.****
b)   Up to one month in the case of all other Casino staff with more than five year’s service with CCCD.****

6. Digital Seas
In any one calendar year, staff employed by Digital Seas (DSI) / MTN with family members or persons falling under 2.1 or 2.2 above may be permitted to travel for:

a)   Up to two months in the case of Internet Cafe Managers who have sole occupancy of a cabin and more than one year's service with Princess Cruises

**  A list of those accorded such "Officer" Status is held by Fleet Personnel.
*** A Statement of proof from a Lawyer that the CLP is a beneficiary of the Will will meet this requirement. Fleet Personnel does not require to see a copy of the Will.
**** Tenure with CCCD will be verified by Fleet Personnel once the application has been received.
