Ali who dares winns!

Sta to toliko traje?
I ako ih imas vec, mozes li mi reci kakvi su ti prvi utisci na brodu, atmosfera, kolegijalnost, ima li problema, daveza i sl?

Hvala    :uzdravlje:

Zna li neko medju vama u koju agenciju u BP bih mogla otici?

Purser Positions

Accountant

The Accountant for the Hotel Department works directly under the supervision of the Hotel Manager. This position is in charge of the auditing as well as accounting duties such as inventory control, calculating supply cost etc.

Requirements:

* Degree in accounting, finance, business or related discipline required
* Previous experience in a pertinent field on a cruise ship or with a hotel or other large scale operation

Compensation: $2,000- $3,000 a month

Assistant Purser

The Assistant Purser ("Junior Officer") represents cruise line policies and procedures and is a key "front line" contact for the passenger. Similar to duties at the front desk of a good hotel, the Assistant Purser provides guest services, information, exchanges travelers checks and foreign currency, posts mail, provides safety deposit box service, provides banking services for passengers, assists with resolving guest complaints and any additional duties that may be assigned by the Hotel Purser.

The Assistant Purser probably offers the best entry level position with good promotion prospects. Good communication and customer service skills are required. Candidates should also have a basic level of computer literacy. Any previous hotel experience or language skills would also be an advantage but not essential. The pay and benefits are often comparable with or better than a good quality hotel. Contracts are quite long, often 10 months to one year. Minimum age required by cruise lines is 21.

If you're looking to get ahead in this industry and fancy working your way up to Officer Status, then this could be a good place to start.

Compensation: $1,500- $2,000 a month

Chief Purser

The Chief Purser is responsible to the Hotel Manager for the day to day running of the Purser's Department.
The Chief Purser's duties are embarkation, handling all guests' complaints and requests, liaising with headquarters of the cruise line regarding passenger's enquiries, auditing all revenue reports from concessions in order to make a weekly revenue report, supervision of cashless system. Duties also include supervising 24-hour front desk operation, developing work loads and work schedules and the training of all pursers' staff and deputizing for the Hotel Manager in his absence. The Chief Purser is assisted by Hotel Pursers and Crew Purser. These titles can change from ship to ship such as First Purser (usually Hotel Purser), Second Purser (usually Crew Purser), Third Purser, etc.

As we mentioned earlier, the Chief Purser is nearly always someone who has worked up through the ranks from Hotel Purser and would have several years ship experience.

Requirements:

* College degree in accounting, hotel management or related subject
* Previous experience as a purser in a subordinate position
* Previous managerial experience
* Excellent computer and administrative skills
* Excellent people skills

Compensation: $3,000-$5,000 a month

Crew Purser

The Crew Purser is responsible to the Chief Purser for the administration of the Crew Office involving signing on of all crew. Maintaining all personnel files and medical records, safeguarding and renewing passports and visas and assisting customs and immigration officials in signing off crew. They also presents the 'Welcome Aboard' induction class for all new crew members, prepares and pays out ship's semi-monthly payroll.

Both Hotel and Crew Purser are aided by a team of staff whom potentially may climb up the career ladder and take senior positions in a matter of years or even months. So, if you have the will and determination to succeed then the prospects are good.

Requirements:

* Excellent people and communication skills
* Good administrative and computer skills
* Previous experience in working on a cruise or in a hotel
* Previous experience in accounting or finance

Compensation: $1,700- $2,400 a month

* Prepare creative layouts for printed materials as instructed by shoreside office.
* Order and maintain office-related supplies, and arrange for equipment maintenance.
* Make suggestions to improve processes, schedules or policies to achieve related goals and objectives.

* Ability to live in a structured environment, wearing uniforms and following ship regulations
* A passion for excellence in publishing

Compensation: $2,800 - $4,700 a month

This is often related to the Pursers Department, indeed many of the duties are the same. However sometimes cruise lines have a specific Guest Relations Officer to assist the Guest Relations Manager in all aspects pertaining to the Guest Relations Department (or Pursers). The Guest Relations Officer is also to provide a high profile of quality guest services. He/she must be capable of handling all complaints and problems to the guest's satisfaction.
