Medical

Provision of the highest quality of medical care at sea is an essential element of life on board a cruise ship.
Our exceptional medical team provide general and emergency care for up to 4,800 people. As industry leaders in maritime medicine we can offer you a medical career which is exciting, rewarding and diverse. We regularly recruit for skilled Doctors and Nurses to join the teams onboard our Cruise ships. These include the fleets of Cunard, P&O Cruises, Carnival Australia and Princess Cruises.

A usual medical team is made up of two doctors and a team of up to four nurses.
The number of medical staff varies depending on the size of the ship and the itinerary.

The Medical Centres on board our ships are some of the most sophisticated and well equipped at sea and make for an appealing working environment.   All of our Medical Centres hold the distinction of being the only medical facilities at sea accredited to the rigorous international healthcare standards of CHKS and are also certified to ISO9001-2008. They undergo annual review and a full survey every three years in order to maintain this status.

A typical Medical Centre comprises doctors' consulting rooms, treatment rooms, in-patient beds including critical care areas, x-ray facilities, treatment room, laboratory and dispensary. There are also separate passenger and crew waiting areas for the daily clinics.
The Medical Centres are fully equipped with diagnostic and emergency equipment and supplies.
