Salary: Ordinarily Resident: Position Grade: FSN-9 (annual gross salary HRK 244,162)
*EFM/MOH/NOR: Position Grade: FP-05 ($50,043) to be confirmed by Washington

The U.S. Embassy in Zagreb is seeking an Ordinarily Resident citizen or an Eligible Family Member (EFM) or individual with the required work permit for employment in country for the position of Nurse in the Management Section.

Basic function of position:
This position functions as the Post’s primary health care provider. The incumbent will serve as the U.S. Registered Professional Nurse, or Western European equivalent educated Registered Professional Nurse with comparable license. The position is located in the Embassy Health Unit (HU) and is under the direct supervision of the Management Officer. The position will provide the full range of professional nursing services.

Qualifications required

All applicants are instructed to address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each criteria.

- graduate of professional nursing school with a current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license from the U.S., Puerto Rico, or Western European equivalent is required.
- at least two years of occupational health experience is required.
- level IV (fluent) written and oral English and fluency in American professional medical terminology is required. Level II (limited knowledge) Croatian is required.
- must have the ability to independently administer adult and pediatric immunization program according to current U.S. CDC standards.
- current American Heart Association or equivalent European Basic Life Support certification and ability to manage anaphylaxis.
- a good working knowledge or experience of current health promotion recommendations in the U.S. population is required.
- must be familiar with American Nursing standards of care
- must be able to perform basic computer word processing

When equally qualified, Eligible Family Members and U.S. Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that all candidates address the required qualifications above in the application.

Additional selection criteria:
- management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
- current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
- current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
- currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
- currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule
