Engine Cadet (Licensed & Un-Licensed)

Department: Engine

Description:

This position should be viewed not just a training opportunity, but as the beginning of a career at NCL. Upon completion of at least one assignment and the attainment of a national License, your performance will be evaluated for continued employment. We only wish to extend the invitation to apply if you are interested in a long-term career with NCL. If hired, there will be no guarantee of the time that you will serve as cadet, as promotions to 3rd Engineer will be awarded to most qualified candidates with the best performance evaluations and when there are openings in the fleet.
Requirements:

LICENSES – THE FOLLOWING LICENSES ARE REQUIRED TO CARRY OUT THE DUTIES OF THIS POSITION: Please list all necessary licenses, certifications or documentation required for this position.

    * National License (STCW III/1)
    * Valid Medical Certificate
    * Valid C1/D Visa

Education:
Completion of a 4 year Maritime Engineering program or current enrollment in an accretited Maritime Engineering program.

Special Requirements:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the essential functions of this job, all team members are required to stand; walk long distances on the ship; use hands to touch, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell.
All vessel positions require repetitive motion of bending, climbing, going up and down stairs and lifting more than 25 pounds. This job requires specific vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
All team members must be physically able to participate in emergency life saving procedures and drills. All vessel positions require full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats.
Work within different temperature changes – indoors to outdoors.
Able to pass basic safety course.
This is a minimal description of duties. Other work requirements may be necessary and assigned as business or maritime law dictates.

Samo da pitam - posoji li šansa da se dobije ovaj posao sa završenim mašinskim (strojarskim) fakultetom?

Da li postoje kadeti struje na kruzerima ili uzimaju samo ljude s odgovarajucim iskustvom?

Postoje kadeti struje, zavisi od kompanije koje nacije uzimaju i sa kojim školama.

Postoje kadeti struje, zavisi od kompanije koje nacije uzimaju i sa kojim školama.

Zanimaju me kompanije koje zaposljavaju Hrvate. Imam srednju elektrotehnicku skolu zanimanje elektrotehnicar i fakultet racunarstva. Radio sam 1 godinu kao inzenjer automatizacije, putovao po svijetu i pustao u pogon strojeve za valjanje celika jednog talijanskog celicnog diva od firme. Poznati su mi Siemens S7-400 PLC-ovi(i Step 7 alat za izradu softvera) i nešto ABB opreme. Radio sam i u radioni na sklapanju elektro ormara od nule(vecinom ABB oprema) po shemi. Zanima me da li bi se moglo stogod ubosti na brodu u svojstvu elektronicara ili elektricara? Isao bih kao kadet za pocetak da se ne provalim tamo i da naucim posao kako spada od 0.

Bitno je samo upasti u priču. Prvu firmu je najteže pronaći. Svi (skoro) zaposljavaju hrvate.
Kad se negde uvalis, odradis 12 meseci, mozes polagati ETO brevet.Posle je sve lako.
Najčešće se počinje na kargu. Traži po netu.

E to sam cuo da je zeznuto pa me zanima ovdje misljenje. Cuo sam ako zapocnes na jednom tipu broda da tamo onda "zaglavis". Dakle ako krenes sa cargo brodovima, onda si uglavnom vezan za te brodove. Posto je kruzer ipak bolja radna okolina, plus ima vise elektricara sto je jako vazno ako negdje zapnes, mozes nekoga pitati za pomoc takav tip broda bi mi bio prioritet. Dakako i uskociti nekome drugome kad zatreba. Ipak ako nije tako, prihvacam sto bilo samo da se krene.

Nisam nikad cuo takvo misljenje. Mislim da su ljudi vezani samo svojom inertnoscu... Kod nas ima dosta ljudi sa karga, jahti, pa cak I sa offshore. Ne vidim sto bi bio problem promeniti, pod uslovom naravno da imas skill I iskustvo.

Lagano se povecava potreba za elektro osobljem. Sve vise je elektrike I elektronike. Mislim da ce u buducnosti biti I vece plate. Kod nas su ETO i inzenjeri izjednaceni po ranku i platama, dok dosta firmi jos uvek ima Inzenjere (mehanika) i elektricare (ne ETO) koji su znatno nize klasirani.
Ja sam sad na Holand Amerika brodu, preuzimamo ga. Ovde je recimo Engine znatno jace rangiran od elektro. 2nd Engineer ima vecu platu nego neki Chief Electrician, dok kod nas SETO je placen isto kao Staff Engineer (circa 9k eur).

Obzirom da je tema Engine Cadet, malo idemo u off topic.

Odlican post. Hvala ti na odgovoru. Mislim da nije offtopic jer ovakve informacije zlata vrijede. Svatko bi trebao znati kuda i koliko moze sa svojom strukom. Motivacija je jako vazna.
Ovo mi je jako lijepa vijest. Jos uvijek ucim i samoobrazujem se i kod kuce o struji i elektricnim strojevima i uredjajima. Kada sve proletim ima da apliciram za neku poziciju pa sto bude.
