Job Description: CRUISE STAFF DEPARTMENT
CRUISE DIRECTOR (The Cruise Director is in charge of all on-board entertainment, creates, co-ordinates and implements all the daily activities, acting master of ceremonies at social activities and evening shows)
Professional entertainment background preferred or 2-5 year’ s on board working your way from an entry-level cruise staff position. Public Speaking, delegate responsibilities and strong organisational abilities required.
Fluent English skills required. Salary range £3,800 – 7500 per month.
ASSISTANT CRUISE DIRECTOR (Co-ordinates the cruise staff personnel activity schedules, supervises and acts as master of ceremonies at specific passenger activities as directed by the Cruise Director and assists in creating the daily programmes) Entertainment, recreation, hotel or resort experience preferred. Public speaking, delegates responsibilities and must have strong organisational abilities. Salary range £2100 – 2700 per month.
CRUISE STAFF (Organising passengers activities – golf, quizzes, bingo etc – some experience preferred in a similar type environment. Fluent English Language skills required.
Salary range £1800 – 2100 per month.
DISC JOCKEY Should have a diverse music foundation to span the generations of the passengers – hotel, resort or nightclub experience preferred. Fluent English Language skills required. Salary Range £1700 – 2000 per month
GENTLEMAN HOSTS Must be over the age of 45 and preferable single. Smart articulate and a good ballroom dancer. They are specially recruited to provide dance and social partners for lady passengers.
There is usually no fixed salary for this position, but return air tickets, accommodation, drinks allowance and all the services of the ship provided to paying passengers are provided.
SOCIAL HOSTESS (Introduces the Captain to passengers at Captains Cocktail Party, conducts social activities.

Public Speaking, delegates responsibilities and must have strong organisational abilities.

SHORE EXCURSION/ TOUR GUIDES They are responsible for the presentation, supervision and arrangement of shore excursions offered in various ports of call by the Company. This department normally acts independently of other departments as it co-ordinates with shore side personnel. Must present shore excursion talks and slide presentations, communicate with port officials and participates in activities, escorts tours and other duties directed by the cruise director. Must have a tourism or travel related background. £2200 - 2600 per month.
PORT LECTURER prior to arrival in each port the Port Lecturer gives a talk outlining the history of the city or country. This is followed details of places of interest. He/she must create information for the port of call which should be consistent with lecture material. The applicant must be knowledgeable about the port of call and advise passengers accordingly. Must have related travel experience. Salary approx: £2200 - £2600 per month.
