Are you an enthusiastic, self motivated individual with a passion for travel, qualified in an Audio-Visual environment and looking to work onboard luxury cruise liners in the Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Alaska and Europe?

Carnival Cruise Lines is looking for qualified / experienced personnel in TV Production, Engineering and ENG Environments, to work aboard our vessels in a challenging Broadcast and TV Production Department.
The Shipboard A/V Media Staff is responsible for the production of various video products including "Fun Ship Films", the creation of video segments for our award winning production shows and also our "Fun Ship" weddings.

Our shipboard production equipment ranges from: LEITCH DPS Velocity NLE systems, Sony DSR 250, 390 and 500 DVCAM cameras, DCR-PC 120, 170, 330, 350 and DSR PD170 - Mini DV cameras, underwater housings, Panasonic Robotic PTZ Camera system, Spirit LX7 audio board and much, much more.

In addition to production + post production duties, A/V Team Members are responsible for the maintenance and operation of all A/V equipment onboard our vessels. This includes plasma/LCD displays, digital signage, disco video wall systems, video distribution systems, CATV broadcast systems, background music systems, Barco and Christie video projection systems, giant outdoor LED displays, interactive television systems, and AMX control systems. As you can tell there is a lot of responsibility for each member of the onboard team, which creates a close knit team environment.

Shooting onboard and during shore excursions is the perfect way for a recent college graduate to hone his or her shooting skills as well as the opportunity to learn new and advanced systems in all aspects of the AV world.

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age, have Professional Experience and a Valid Passport. Associate Degree in Video Production or equivalent experience; excellent shooting + editing skills; knowledge of editing systems/programs; friendly, professional attitude; willingness to learn; excellent written + verbal skills. The Video Services Staff is expected to act professionally and must adhere to all shipboard rules and regulations as well as dress code. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required. The applicant must be physically able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Shipboard Photographer

We are looking for individuals with photography experience and outgoing personality to work as photographers on board our FunShips. Professional, customer-oriented attitude and willingness to learn is key. Great opportunity to travel and meet people from around the world.

Responsibilities include:

Shooting, processing and selling digital photography on board. These include, but are not limited to, guest pictures of embarkation, portraits, gangways at the ports of call, dining room, pool/deck, and weddings.
Selling retail items such as cameras, batteries, digital media, folios, albums, etc.

The shipboard photographer reports directly to the Photo Manager and must adhere to all shipboard rules and regulations, including dress code. This is an 8-month on, 8-week off, onboard position for which a valid passport is necessary. We are also hiring for the shorter Alaska season of May through September. We will provide your airfare; all necessary equipment such as cameras, lenses, flashes, media cards, tripods, flash meter; and a full set of uniforms. Due to the limited space onboard, it is necessary to share a cabin with someone of the same gender. Phone and internet communication to shore side is available for a nominal fee. Shipboard Medical

Ship's Physician
The ship's physician is responsible for the basic and emergency medical treatment of the guests and directly supervises the ship's nurses. The ship physician also serves as the emergency and primary care physician for all crew onboard. Physicians must hold valid registration in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, South Africa, or European Union member country. Candidates must have completed a minimum of three years postgraduate training in internal medicine, family practice, or emergency medicine and be competent in emergency medicine with experience in orthopedic and minor surgical procedures. Current certification as an ACLS provider or its equivalent, unless board certified in emergency medicine. ATLS certificate and PALS certification helpful, but not mandatory. Experience and knowledge of the indications and contra-indications of fibrinolytic therapy and care of the patient before and after administration. Some experience or willingness to learn simple laboratory and x-ray procedures. Evidence of a positive mental attitude and an ability to work with people of different nationalities in a close intense environment, while providing effective leadership. Must be fluent in English. Candidate must pass a pre-employment physical examination and be deemed fit for duty at sea. Basic computer knowledge and proficiency is required.


Ship's Nurse
The Ship's Nurses are responsible to care for the nursing needs (routine and emergency needs) of the guests and crew. Registered Nurses with valid registration in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Ireland, or European Union country with a minimum of three recent years of emergency or critical care nursing experience with competency in emergency/critical care nursing care are eligible to apply. Current BLS certification is required. Current ACLS certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or its equivalent, is highly recommended. Some willingness to learn simple laboratory/x-ray procedures. Must be proficient with IV cannulation and venipuncture. Must have a positive mental attitude and an ability to work with people of different nationalities in a close intense environment. Applicants must pass a medication administration exam, demonstrate adequate experience with nursing procedures on our skills check list and must pass a pre-employment physical examination and be deemed fit for duty at sea. Basic computer knowledge and proficiency is also required. Fluent in English.

Nurse Practitioner
The ship's nurse practitioner must be registered in the United States or Canada. Candidates must have completed the required number of years of advanced nursing training in a recognized nurse practitioner program and have received formal clinical training in internal medicine, family medicine, or general practice. In addition, must have three or more years of critical care experience as an RN and a minimum of two years of NP practice experience in family practice, internal medicine or general medicine. The ship's nurse practitioner holds joint responsibility with the physician for the basic and emergency medical treatment of the guests onboard. The ship's nurse practitioner (as well as the physician) also serves as the emergency and primary care practitioner for all crew onboard. Nurse practitioners must be competent in emergency medicine with experience in orthopedic and minor surgical procedures. Current certification in ACLS or its equivalent is required. ATLS and PALS certifications are helpful, but not required. Some experience or willingness to learn simple laboratory and x-ray procedures is required. Shipboard Casino


Experience Required

 

We’re looking for adventurous, fun loving, outgoing people who can cope with the challenges of working and living within a close-knit environment, as well as being highly adaptable and accepting of different cultures.

A career in our casinos means promotion is almost exclusively in house and rapid, depending solely on your experience and aptitude. Carnival also provides an excellent job-training program hosted by our large corporate training department. Some ships have access to a computer-based training center offering certified courses in languages and computer studies.

 

Dealers 

Casino Experience - The principal games dealt on our ships are Blackjack, American Roulette, Dice and various Poker games. Any applicant for a dealer position is required to have at least one years experience in a licensed casino in Blackjack and Roulette. Applicants will be interviewed and table tested by a Carnival Casino Representative.

Tips - The tips received on the casino tables are divided among the staff once a week. Monies are not withheld by the company.

 

Casino Host   

We are looking for exuberant individuals to be our casino hosts. You should be outgoing, self-motivated, reliable, responsible and well organized.


Possess  good computer skills, excellent written and spoken English,  -  French, Spanish or German a plus, -above average communication skills, table game experience and/or slot floor experience, previous experience as a host in a casino environment, or marketing experience.


You will  represent the casino and our players clubs, market the players clubs to our guests, conduct tournaments and promotions, communicate effectively with our players on a one to one basis, be a team player and contribute to the casino operation.


Cashiers 

We require you to have a cashiering background in bank, building societies or casinos  with excellent customer skills and  attitude.

 

Slot Technicians

We are looking for experienced electronic engineers who have a minimum of one years experience in their field to repair and maintain slot machines onboard.

 

Trainee Casino Technicians

We require applicants to have at least six months minimal electrical / mechanical background for this entry  level position. You will be hired and paid according to your experience and qualifications.

 

Contract Conditions

Contracts range from a minimum of six months to a maximum of eight months. The contract length will be decided upon after consultation with your manager six weeks after boarding your assigned vessel. Contract length will be subject to operational needs.

 

Promotion - It is the company's general policy to promote from within existing staff whenever possible and practical. However, during periods of high staffing and the arrival of new ships, certain applicants may be hired at Supervisory levels.

 Shopping Specialist

Destination Shopping Specialists are staffed onboard Carnival Cruise Lines by The PPI Group. We are continuously looking for high energy, self motivated individuals to promote the shore side recommended and guaranteed shopping program through live presentations and one-on-one consultations. This position requires public speaking and sales experience. Destination Shopping Specialists are responsible for creating a huge shopping frenzy for the ports of call. Our staff conduct entertaining on-stage and televised Port & Shopping Presentations to drive cruise ship guests to shore side shops. Destination Shopping Specialists actively promote high-end luxury items including diamonds, gemstones, fine jewelry, Swiss watches, electronics, designer fragrances and keepsake souvenirs available at participating retailers.
