General information about this position:

- Language requirements: Advanced Spanish + Advanced English OR Advanced French + Advanced English.
- Previous experience as a professional Photographer.
- Needs to have his own professional photo camera, to bring it on board with him.

Minimum Requirements:

· Must have previous experience with Digital Photography of the Public.
· Must possess a Digital Photo Camera.

Required Equipment

If Nikon Equipment (preferred)

•Camera – 1 unit of any of the following: Nikon D7000 , D700, D300, D200, D90 or D80.
•Flash – 1 unit of any of the following: Nikon SB 700, SB 900 or SB 900.
•Lens – 1 unit of any of the following: 18-105 mm or 18-35 mm.
•Rechargeable AA Batteries: 8 pieces.
•Rechargeable AA Battery Charger: 1 piece.
•Memory Cards: 2 pieces of minimum 2GB each.

If Canon Equipment:

•Camera – 1 unit of any of the following: Canon 1D Mark II, 1D Mark I, 5D, 40 D, 30D or 20D.
•Flash – 1 unit of any of the following: Canon Speedlight for Digital bodies.
•Lens – 1 unit of any of the following: 18-105 mm or 18-35 mm.
•Rechargeable AA Batteries: 8 pieces.
•Rechargeable AA Battery Charger: 1 piece.
•Memory Cards: 2 pieces of minimum 2GB each.


Job Scope

•Persuading passengers to pose for pictures and operating a camera and a variety of photographic accessories to photograph them using digital camera.
•This position is necessary to ensure quality photographs are available to all passengers throughout the cruise including but not limited to, Embarkations, Captain’s Cocktail, Dinners, and special events & studios.
•Photographers are responsible for photographing passengers at a variety of events according to established schedules and policies.
•Photographers ensure that photographs have proper composition, colour and balance.
•Person holding this position assist passengers with selection of photographs, albums, frames, cameras, batteries and other electronics.
•Courtesy and helpfulness and fundamental requirements of the position
•Attention to detail and good timekeeping are a must.
•Photographers work seven (7) days a week for a six (6) month contract.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks

•Selects and assembles equipments according to subject material, anticipated conditions and knowledge of function and limitations of various type of cameras, lenses and accessories.
•View subject and setting plans composition, camera position and camera angle to produce desired results.
•Poses passengers to take appropriate photographs with desired result.
•Estimates or measures light level, using light meter or create artificial lighting with flash units, lights and lighting equipment.
•Adjusts lens aperture and shutter speed bases on combination of factors such as lighting, depth of field and film speed.
•Determines subject-to-lens distance to adjust focus.
•Transports and assembles setting to be used as background when photographing passengers.
•Takes memory card to the photo lab to download the photos to be printed.
•Cuts and codes finished photographs and places in display for passengers view.
•Encourages passengers to make additional purchases by offering additional products.
•Charge payment for passengers, records prices and totals purchases on the register.
•Picks up photographic supplies, transports to store area, and stocks shelves.
•Cleans and maintains store area.
•Acts as a character (e.g. Pirate, Roman Soldier) for photo shoots as assigned by the Photo Manager.
•Complies with all Maritime and Ship rules, regulations and procedures.
•Maintains knowledge of the organization's safety policies and practices. Keeps work environment and equipment in safe operating order and performs all jobs duties in compliance with safety policies and procedures and job safety analysis.
•Edit digital photos with Photo Shop.
•Creates basic designs with Photo Shop, Adobe Light-room and complementary photo software.
•Maintains correct knowledge about digital storage and backup .
•Has the ability to learn and acquire new knowledge and to develop new abilities in relation with lab process.
•Is available for any other tasks assigned by Hotel Director
