New Uniform Policy – Hotel ‘Own Supply’ Uniform Items
Dear Crew Member:
Our existing Uniform Policy has been in place for many years, providing crew with quality clothing at a significantly discounted cost.
After a review of our current policy, comparison with other cruise lines and the hospitality industry in general, it has been decided to separate uniform supply into two main categories:
1. ‘Company Supply’ relates to uniform items that are unique to (and produced for) Princess Cruises and includes tuxedos, jackets, vests, ties and bow ties, dresses, epaulette shirts, themed trousers, shorts , themed skirts and any other item specific to the company. The supply of these items is not affected by this policy.
2. ‘Own Supply’ relates to personal uniform items that are common to the hospitality industry at large and includes regular white shirts and blouses, plain black trousers and skirts, black belts and shoes. In general, items that are available the world over and are not unique to Princess Cruises.
This memorandum refers only to ‘Own Supply’ items.
With immediate effect all personnel (within the below applicable ranks)returning from leave or newly hired, will be responsible for the cost and provision of all ‘Own Supply’ uniform items as indicated in the below list.
Therefore, all crewmembers are responsible to bring with them onboard the assigned vessel the following uniform items in accordance to the ranks they have been employed for and respecting the company requirements as described in the attached list.
This new policy applies only to the rank listed here below:

Food & Beverage Supervisor Bar Supervisor Stateroom Steward
Waiter Bartender Accommodation Clerk
Junior Waiter Bar Steward Captain’s Steward
Buffet Steward Utility Bar Accommodation Attendant
Assistant Buffet Steward Accommodation Utility Cleaner
For all other ranks the current Uniform Policy remains unchanged.
