Darling, whoever gave you the job, he should have clear line of communication and ability to explain how and where to obtain a seaman’s book. Unfortunately, some cruise lines demand a lots of certificates that were until recently done onboard and cost nothing.
If this small issue is getting you stressed out, you should think twice about a job onboard. It’s nothing comparing to what’s to come. Can you work 4-5-6 months without day off?
