Here’s a question that I couldn’t found a concrete answer at the forum.
How is cruise ship salary calculated for those who come on board (first salary)?
I understand that wages are received once a month, twice a month, or every cruise, I think it’s clear to everyone, but I want to know when and how the salary is calculated.
Having in mind that people get on and off the ship each cruise, some ending and some just starting their contracts, I want to know how  is salary calculated for those who just come on board (first earnings) For example,  if the payday is on 1st and 15th of each month and you‘re getting onboard on the 5th, how and when you’re getting your first paycheck, how is it being calculated?
If you get on board two or three days before the payday, do they pay you together with others or there’s another way ….

From the day when you’re aboard the ship and receive your uniform – you’re on their payroll register. Earnings, in your position, is once, or on some boats twice a month. Whatever day you board the ship, they will calculate these days and so you‘ll get your money.
If you’re
new joiner, you’ll most likely get the first pay in cash, until they activate the cash card that they will open for you, free of charge.
