I have always believed that Serbia was not the place for me. Adventuresome spirit, hunger for explore new cities and new experiences was held by only financial situation in our beautiful, yet cruel towards youth – Serbia.
As a little girl I dreamed that I would go around the world as an archaeologist or as a movie character Hercule Poirot. As time went by, all around me and I was changing. Everything was changing. All except my dream.
I lived in Zurich last seven months, and I thought it was going to be my new home, but it turned out to be only a station. Disappointed, with the dream slowly fading away in my head, I went back home.
It’s been a month indifference and reconciliation with the fact that I wasn’t the one who is destined for something fascinating, waiting just around the corner.
I spent time sleeping until noon, aimlessly looking at the lap-top until 3 am, and then … the end of July, late at night (or early morning) I got one request on facebook. The guy was from my city, an acquaintance.
I accepted friendship, entered his photo gallery, and I saw something interesting. At first I could not understand what was it behind him. Some large buildings? Hotel by the water? What is it Princess? Then it became clear, and my dream slowly started to wake up.
Shyly but rising wave of drums in my head: cruise, cruise, cruise … That night I sent my CV to three email addresses of recruiting agencies that were recommended there at the forum. Later, the Cruise Ship Jobs forum would become my best adviser and friend.
