I have just returned from my first contract onboard a cruise ship, spent on “Oceana” P&O UK.
Full of impressions and knowledge about everything, more or less, because of my specific situation …
So let’s find out Where to apply for cruise ship casino jobs, and walk through the points slowly, one by one, in some order …

Getting a casino cruise ship job via recruiting agencies:

I’ve contacted more or less all major agencies in the region and these are the results – in short:

– Games Plus – Casino Logistic (Varna) – I got the job through them, when it comes to casino, they work directly under the CCCD, so they are closest to the fire, and thus probably warms them more than others. They send a good number of candidates to the cruise ship casinos, to all vessels under carnival corporation including my P&O UK.
They seem to be organized, the easiest way to employment is probably through them, but on the flip coin, they are farthest from us (ex-Yugoslavia), and they charge candidates the highest commission for their services …

– Kouzon – Nis, Skopje – disappointment to me, especially certain lady Limba, which is like some kind of recruiter of their, or something.
She simply didn’t like me and that’s why I did not even get a chance to attend the table test, nor the interview with recruiters of cruise ship companies, although there was demand for dealers precisely at that time when I applied in Kouzon.
Anyway, I traveled to Nis, from Novi Sad just to meet with a woman who expertly estimated that I wasn’t the right fit for them and that Kouzon didn’t need someone like me (my work performance evaluation at the end of my first contracts was deemed outstanding by the CCCD – but what do they know, they only have a few thousand employees dealers and decades of experience in the business).

– Safe Cruise – Belgrade – Extremely polite, but did not conduct employment in cruise ship casino department.

– Employment Power – Zagreb – They directed me to their allies in Serbia – Sea Agency – Belgrade

– Sea Agency – Belgrade – Agent there works with Royal Caribbean (which is in the casino business, through dealers’ earnings perspective, at least two classes above the Carnival), very kind and professional.
I went through all the interviews and table test in Split on “Azamara Quest”, but I had the misfortune to be contacted with an offer three weeks after I have already boarded the “Oceana” cruise ship.

All interviews, travel trips to Varna, Niš, Split, two or three million times to Belgrade, medical, agency’s commission, airline ticket (I bought it on my own, because I had a desire to see London, although the P&O UK is probably the only company in the world that offers its employees paid travel expenses), and all the small necessities, cost me around € 1,700.

Age limit for casino: I passed all the interviews and got job offers from the two largest cruise companies in the world in my 43. year, and very easily (if we ignore the Kouzon agency and Miss Limba, where they thought that my age was an excuse to deny me the chance – but that their problem).

Body weight limit: I passed a medical with my 130kg and 43 years of age, but there are more variations of Medical exam.
Some companies are looking for “BMI”, (body mass index) and some don’t not care. Even within the carnival corporation, all medical tests are not the same for all companies.
What I know is that “BMI” plays role at CCL, HAL, Costa and Seabourn, while for P&O UK, P&O Australia, Cunard, Princess, and Aida they don’t ask for it.

Tattoos in visible places – as I’ve found out, and I have investigated, P&O UK and partly P&O Australia are the only companies that allow it to their employees.
